    A 1950's Girl at Heart

She drives hot rods and fixes them up for car shows, she listens to Rockabilly and big band music, she's got the haircut, she's got the tattoos, she's got the clothes and accessories....and I'm envious!

Corinne is a true 1950's girl at heart! I am so excited that Corinne came in for a session because I absolutely love photographing gals who are die-hards for the era. Love it, love it, lickity love it!

Corinne brought a couple suitcases of stuff for us to play around with, which was awesome. It took us awhile to get started because she had so many options, but it was so worth it.

She also brought her mom, who was a crack-up! Loved her too! Unfortunately, she didn't stay the whole time. For some reason, mom's who come in for their daughter's sessions are so much fun. They bring a lot of laughs, crazy comments, and embarrassing yet helpful advice. Three cheers for our "Session Moms", hip-hip-hooray!

Photo #1: Looks like it came straight out of the "Chicago" movie set. Corinne brought her own ginormous martini glass. She collects them--Isn't she so interesting? If she had a reality show, I would so watch it! :)

Photo #2: We had to squeeze in an Oriental theme...

Photo #3: This candy girl is sssssizzzlin'!! I love the contrast of the bright, happy-go-lucky lollipop with the deep warm colors.

If you didn't see it already...

If you haven't noticed already, I'm not one to bring up political views and all that jazz. But, I just had to post this video of dear old President Bush ducking shoes during a press conference. What really cracks me up is that he keeps his silly smirk on his face the whole time. It's frickin' hilarious man!!

...And why the heck is security so delayed?? They came running out the back room all late! What a mess!

    You Go Girl!

You guys have heard me say it before, and now I'm bringing it up again: We're bringin' curvy back. Yep!

...and I love it! I love the fact that Lisa came in for a session, and was not afraid to strut her stuff. I'm proud to post images of gorgeous women who don't fit into the plastic Abercrombie & Fitch mold.

It only proves my point: Every woman is beautiful!

If you are one of those women sitting at a desk reading this blog and wondering what it would be like to be photographed as a super vixen, but you're torn between feeling shy or ashamed of your body....SNAP OUT OF IT GIRL!! You can SO do it! Go get yourself some cute panties and bring your butt over here! (There's my pep talk for the day.)

So thank you Lisa, for allowing me to show off your photos. You represent many women out there, and I'm sure they appreciate what you've so confidently achieved. You are a leader.

Photo #1: Now, is she hot, or is she HOT?! And those Playboy pumps are a force to be reckoned with!

    Photo #2: Fabulously Gorgeous!

FYI: Email Acting a Little Weird

Well, as some of you may already know: Our email service is acting a little crazy right now. I guess if you email us, you receive a bounced back message that says "Delivery Failure Notification".

The funny thing is, that we are still receiving all of your emails. But just to be sure, if we haven't responded back to you within 24-48 hours, you might want to shoot another email or just give us a call.

I contacted the service providers, and they said things should be back to normal in about 48 hours. So we'll see about that...

    Thanks for your patience!

    A Raven-Haired Beauty

What a co-ink-adink! It was bound to happen sometime. I've always wondered if my photography adventures would one day lead me into an old classmate, or someone else from my past.

On this particular incident when I first heard her name, it lit a dim light bulb in my memory, but I couldn't put a finger on it. But then on the day of the shoot, I opened the door to greet her, and to my pleasant surprise....I did know her after all! It was Sabrina, an old friend I lost touch with some years ago. I met Sabrina almost 7 years ago when we worked at Macy's together. Wow, has it been 7 years already? Jimminy Crickets!

She almost threw me off when I saw her the day of the shoot, because instead of the blonde I used to know, Sabrina came in with a super cute glossy-black haircut. I must say, the new black "do" is workin' for you girl!

I was so excited to get the chance to catch up with an old friend. It's a great feeling. I had so many questions for Sabrina that at times I distracted myself from the main reason we were there. But, we got the job done, and the photos came out scrumdidlyumptious!!!

Photo #1: Absolutely gorgeous! The black and white image tastes a little bit like Elizabeth Taylor. What'd you think?

Photo #2: Sabrina! You naughty girl, you!

We did a tribute to Anna Nicole Smith. Here's the original image....
    ...and here's what we created....
Photo #3: I love the bright fuchsia corset! Totally hot!

    When Summer Comes to Sacramento...

....Watch out! Cuz she's hot! And she brings her friends, who are a ton of fun (and a great help during the shoot as well).

Summer claims she's from a small town with "dirt roads where everyone knows your business," which I thought was hilarious. We cracked a few jokes, but really--her town is the type of beautiful vacation spot that most people try to seek out. Well, I'm glad Summer and her posse came out to SAC for a little fun!

It's crazy to hear of all the numerous cities that my clients travel from. Many of them drive from cities that are a couple hours away! I'm honored that you folks come all the way out to see me!!! It just tickles my pickle! Honestly!!

Photo #1: The tattoo (and the beauty mark) adds the extra "umph" that makes this photo ALL THAT! My oh my, what a ton of beautiful hair she has!
Photo#2: Ahh, so serene and pleasant...

Photo#3: One of my favorites from the bunch! Summer's boyfriend will be very proud!

    Beautiful Ballerina: Oh So Bendy!

Yes, folks. I'm excited to announce that we've had our first dancer come in for a session. Hip-hip hooray for Katy!!

It was inspiring to photograph Katy because there were so many fun, twisty and bendy poses that she could do--things I've never thought of before! There were times during the session that I just watched in awe as Katy glided into positions she personally suggested. And what great suggestions they were!

Photo #1: "And 1 and 2 and kiss, kiss, kiss"

Photo #2: Warm and glowy and just sizzzzzzlin'.

Photo #3: "Oops! Who spilled the cherries?"

Here we showcase Katy's lovely long limbs at work again.
AND! Check it out: We even put a photo of her fiance in the frame on the table. Now did we personalize, or did we personalize?!...YOU KNOW IT!!

Pink is Sweet, but Jessica is Oh-so-Spicy

You're not gonna believe this: She's got 3 kids! If you kinda believed that, then you're for sure not gonna believe this one: Her oldest is 17!!!
I know! I just about fell over when I heard that one too!

Jessica brought her toddler son with her to the session. What was really funny was that he was all in the mix the whole time: Some shots had him sitting just on the edge of the set. There were even times that I had him just below the camera and I had to quickly snap the picture before he jumped into the frame! Boy oh boy, what an adventure that was!

Here's some of the crazy action that took place on set (hilarious!):

    Photo #1: Deeeelicious!

We used this Marilyn Monroe image for inspiration for the following:

    Photo #2

Photo #3: Showin' a little sweet Glam Love for ya!

Why Jessica is the bomb-diggity: After her session, she donated some of her fabulous accessories to us so that we can use them for future shoots. Isn't she the sweetest!?

MAC makeup and Tavia Jenkins (hair) can be thanked for styling Jessica. (Tavia: 916-451-4600)

    Our New Edition....maybe.

She's calm, she's mellow, she's timid, she doesn't jump on furniture, she barely barks, she blinks slowly, she's petite, she's the complete opposite of Panda, she's.....Cinnamon!

...And she doesn't get along with Panda...well not yet anyway.

I just had to show you guys our new dog. She's actually here for a trial run, because we have to be sure she meshes well with the wild tornado of a dog we already have. Hopefully, she does.

The photo below shows the difference in size between the two. And yep, Panda can never resist a little booty!

I think we're gonna have grand adventures together. Just grand!

I shall call them my little "yin and yang".

    All Hot and Red-headed!

Danielle brought some fabulous corsets and lingerie to the session, which is always fun. AND she also brought her mom, which contrary to belief, is always fun as well! Moms who come in for their daughter's shoots are always very open-minded and helpful in both posing suggestions and assisting. It's entertaining for me to witness the interaction between mom and daughter during these types of sessions. Especially since I could never imagine my own mom participating in a sexy boudoir shoot of my own!

Photo #1: Absolutely gorgeous! I love the choice of color in the ruffle panties. It contrasts with her hair beautifully.

This photo demonstrates why I love to shoot red-heads. I have super-duper mucho fun "popping" the hair color, and bringing out the red-orange lushiness. By the way, don't you just love that big yummy side curl?

Photo #2: A sexy pose a la Dita von Teese.

    Our version...

    We Film Noir-ed It!

    ...We sho' did!

The lovely "G" (who wishes to remain anonymous) came to us knowing that she wanted to do a Film Noir styled shoot. We accomplished the look by shooting everything on our Dark Vixen set. It was exciting to try and recreate images from that era.

Photo #1: (ACTION!) "....She reached for the phone, but before she could dial, something or someone caught her eye in the corner of the room. Was it him?....." (AND CUT!)
Does this look like it's straight out of a movie, or what?

    Photo #2: The Soft Romantic

Photo #3: By the time we got to this set, "G" and I were both starving and had low-blood sugar. We were getting weak and shaky by the minute. Heck! It was lunch time!! But we had a goal: To re-create the Opium ad shown below.

Boy oh boy, was it a challenge to get the body contoured into that position. The funny thing is that you don't think a pose is very hard to do until you actually try and perform it yourself. It turns out that those girls in the magazines are doing some unnatural and straining body positions, but are pulling it off with what looks like ease. But all in all, I like the version we achieved.

By the way, I'll let you in on a little secret: "G" is not really naked. We just made it appear that way...Secret's in the sauce! ;)

Special "thanks" to Nina for hair and makeup! (nina.themakeupartist@yahoo.com)

To Prada or not to Prada

Is it wrong for a woman to wear men's cologne?? Cuz I love the Prada cologne! I just discovered it in a magazine, and I hung the yummy smelling ad on my wall. I personally don't think it smells very manly, so....I think I can pull it off.

    Here's what the ad described:
"A rich, complex amber intermingles with the clean, fresh scent of barber's soap and continues to evolve between olfactory contrasts to become a classic of tomorrow."

I think it's the barber's soap that attracts me. I love the fresh, light scent.

    So......should I or shouldn't I?

All them boys are much too much!!!

I've been telling friends about this fatherhood public service announcement for awhile now, but none of them know what the heck I'm talking about. It is hill-air-eeeeeoussss! Plus, it really sends one of the best messages to young men out there. Are you feelin' warm and toasty inside yet?

You gotta love the huge, "we-mean-business" dad contrasted with the chubby little girl, and...don't forget about the booty swing at the end!

All them boys are much too much, them boys are much too much! I loove it!

    Introducing Pin-up Girl: "Cookie Cupcakes"

Who can resist our new Pin-up girl, Cookie Cupcakes? Isn't she scrumdiddlyumptiously delicious?!! Wow--you wouldn't believe the fun we had during this session.

Cookie Cupcakes aka Cerina, is working on becoming a professional Pin-up model. She's doing very well at it, if you ask my opinion.

What makes this session particularly special is that Cerina brought all her own props and outfits....including the cute round red little carpet in Photo #4 (she's so prepared!). I totally had to ask her where she purchased some of her great props.

I got a kick out of Cerina's thorough note-taking. She had every scene planned out: the props, outfit, pose, etc. She even had practice photos on her personal digital camera that she took the day before so that she would know beforehand what she ultimately wanted to portray. I love it! I thought it was so funny, but yet very familiar because I do the exact same thing with all my shoots. I totally plan out everything to the max! It's nice to know there's others out there as anal as I.

Photo #1--A little makeup touch-up while waiting for the next train...

Photo #2--An ice cream sellin' cutie! I adore her choice in outfits!

Photo #3--I really like this one. You may not be able to tell in this particular shot, but she "accidentally" clothes-pinned her dress to the line.

Photo #4--The Confused Cook! I love the burnt pie!!! I posted this in a previous entry, but I had to add it in here so that it gets a chance to win in the 8x10 contest.

Photo #5--The beautiful Senorita presents her pastries....

Once the shoot was over, Cerina gave me her pastry props....and I ate them! Delicious! The best thing about being a photographer: Eating the props at the end of the shoots! ...Well not all the props. Most food props are quite scary by the end of the shoot, and I would never recommend eating them!

Be sure to vote for your favorite photo so that Cerina can receive her free 8x10 print. The winning photo needs only 15 votes! Post your vote by clicking on the "Comments" link below.

    **Great News!**
Since Cerina's shoot, we are in the process of adding more fabulous solid-color background sets for our Pin-up Sessions. So, if you're interested in doing a more traditional Pin-up shoot, we will have more bright solid background options for you! Yipeeeeee!

I was so excited, I just had to give you guys a sneek peek of a recent Pin-up & Boudoir Session we did with pin-up model, "Cookie Cupcakes". This is one of my absolute favorites from the session. Isn't it scrumptious!?

    This Kitty's on the Prrrowl!

You gotta love the sizzlin' hot "Kitten Prowl" set....especially with Keri struttin' her stuff on it!

Her wedding is next month, and these photos are going to be for her brand-spankin' new husband. Somebody get him an ice-pack for his poor little eyes cuz they're gonna need some cooling off once he sees these!

    Photo #1

I loved so many of these shots, I had to put a few of them in a series. Watch out now!--Some of Miss Keri's shots were too hot for this blog! :)

    Photo #2

The young, beautiful, island girl is waiting desperately to hear the whisper of her true love before she is married off to the suitor her vicious parents have chosen for her. Little does she know, the man she waits for is only an hour away in the next city over. He too, with the rage fueled from the fire burning in his heart, yearns for his young beauty. But he is one that doesn't like to sit around. Instead, he is in his cherry-red convertible, pushing 105 mph, making his way to save his one and only true love.....To Be Continued.

Next week, tune in for the unforgettable story of star-crossed lovers who accidentally meet their demise while taking the bus to a nearby McDonalds restaurant.

Okay, Okay. Sometimes I get a little carried away. ;)

Age is Nothing but a Number

I would say that Michele is a special heart-warming case. She came in with major self-esteem issues that she's been working out for awhile now. I'm so glad she decided to come in for a shoot because it turned out to be a great step in her self-esteem building goal. I feel honored to be given a part in such an important, life-changing process.

I have to tell you what really touched me:
Immediately after Nina completed Michele's hair and makeup, we all went to the mirror to check out the results. Michele's reaction was just..."Wow". And then she got kinda quiet. Even though she looked gorgeous, I was a little worried that her silence meant she didn't like her glamified-look, but that wasn't the case at all. She fell silent only to try to hold back her tears. Can you believe she said: "I didn't think I could look this beautiful." Can you believe that!!! I'll never forget that moment....

Michele actually explains everything better herself:

"WOW!! I wanted to build my self-confidence and self-esteem after a major weight lost (53 pounds). Who would of thought that at my age I'd be doing this!! HAHA Age is just a number anyways believe it or not I am 39.

I couldn't of picked a better group of ladies to take this major step with me. It was like being with "the girls" hanging out and talking and laughing the entire time.. talking about "boys" and "men" oh it got interesting... But ladies never talk of such things...What a great atmosphere!!!

Even though I came to the studio as a blank slate, I walked out filled with the fact I accomplished something I meant to do years ago not for anyone else but ME. Yet there is someone who has put the fire under me, who I owe so much to and that is Chuck. Great guy who could ask for anything more....Really?

Janelle made me feel great with the "extra baggage" we all have and to have fun, be silly and serious all in one. Never did I feel more at ease and at home then I did here when having my picture taken... I can never thank you enough for your kindness.. This definitely boosted my self-esteem, self-confidence and self-worth....Now to see the grande finale!!! Oh and next time yes I think the SCHOOL Girl outfit... Yeah that's next...Chele V."

Ahh, isn't she so sweet? I love to hear client feedback--it's informative and delicious! Check out some of Michele's pictures--they're not quite the "grand finale" yet, because she still has an awesome album in the making....

Isn't this just so cute?! She pulled the expression off fabulously!

    Photo #1

I love the natural reaction we captured in the top corner image. We had so much fun! We couldn't stop giggling throughout the session.

My final words: MICHELE--STOP BEING SO HARD ON YOURSELF. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!

    My Regular Morning Shake

Did I ever mention that I have a hard time eating my fruits and vegetables? Well, to help solve that problem and to get some good stuff in me, I now create some questionable, chunky, nutrient packed shakes. I usually gulp them down while holding my breath.

I have a juicer, but it takes so flippin' long to prepare the fruit and veggies just to go into the grinder. So instead, I just throw everything into a blender (hence, the sometimes too chunky texture).

On this particular morning--at 6am, according to the photo--this lovely purple hued shake was made from blueberries, tofu, banana, and a little orange juice.

Sound appetizing? Doesn't matter. Just close your eyes, hold your breath, and down the pipe it goes! Ahh, the things we do to stay healthy....or is it just me??

    Dive in!

Who knew Tube Socks could be so hot!?

I've been a naughty girl. I haven't been keeping y'all up to date. We're sooo behind! I've got tons of new photos and stuff to show you. So stay tuned!

First off: We have the gorgeous, Nicole. Nicole came in for a Pin-up and Boudoir Session as a gift for her hubby's birthday.

Nicole's man plays the drums, so she brought in his set to do a little "lounging around". Shhhh, Don't tell!--he's going to be disturbed once he figures out that she packed his drums into her car and drove them off without letting him know. Oh, but she shouldn't worry too much--Once he sees his baby on these babies, I think he will be quite pleased...

    Photo #1

Here's a little classic pin-up posing for ya. This layout was taken straight from Nicole's album we designed for her.
    Photo #2

She's bringin' sexy back! I love the tattoo accent on her back...oh, and the cupcake undies are super cute too!
    Photo #3

I have got to say that Nicole has the most fabulous taste in jewelry and handbags. Check out the cute heart chain she's holding in this photo--I love it. It's so right-up-my-alley!

Because her hubby says she looks sexiest in her "relaxed-look" with just tube socks, Nicole really wanted to do a few photos featuring these striped bad-boys. I'm in love with the idea!
    Photo #4

A Moulin Rouge styled birthday gift...

    Photo #5

I really liked how she incorporated some of her hubby's favorite things (drums, tube socks) to make the shoot more personalized and meaningful. Miss Nicole--You are a gorgeous lady!
