If you haven't seen Napoleon Dynamite....

...you don't know what you're missing! It's totally off-beat and hill-ar-ious!! It came out a couple years ago so you should be able to rent it at Blockbuster or order it on Comcast's On Demand. Whatever you have to do, get to it.

You may ask why the random chatter about a 2-year old movie. Well, I bring it up because I had a dream last night about this weird puffy princess-like dress (maybe I was at a wedding, I can't remember). The dress had "puffy sleeves" just like in the movie. You have to see it to know what I'm talking about!

I found this tribute to Napoleon Dynamite on Youtube: Napoleon's Top 10. So, if you've seen the movie, sit back and enjoy the little recap. And if you haven't seen it, lean forward and take all the goofiness in, and then go make a run to Blockbuster.

    * Update 6/5/08: Hey, I found this Napoleon Dynamite Soundboard the other day. Have some fun with this one...

    One of My Favorite...

Okay, I just had to post this photo from a previous session. I loooove it! I just finished retouching it, and I couldn't contain myself. Molly did an excellent job! Her facial expression is gorgeous. She's even got a glamorous beauty mark on her cheek bone...

    Are you serious?!

I was watching "The View" this morning when the topic of this photo came up. She is Princess Beatrice, the Duchess of York's daughter. As you can guess, the issue is that someone published the photo and said that she should wear a sarong--for herself, and for the rest of us. What?!! I think she looks good! I'm actually kind of envious because her body is in perfect proportion...at least to me... She's got great, curvy hips, a fairly flat tummy, not too small/not too large breasts....what's the problem?

I hate how the media pushes "stick thin is in". What really gets me, is that we're used to seeing scandalous photos of celebrities frolicking on the beach, and in those photos, we actually do see stomach flab, cottage cheese thighs, etc (which by the way, is no whoopteedo). But in this particular photo of Princess Beatrice, you don't see any of that!! She's got a beautiful body, and yet she's getting knocked down and ridiculed for it. I definitely think the media has gone too far with this one.

By the way, she's a size 10. A healthy size 10. And at 19 years old, I hope all this media frenzy doesn't trample on her self-esteem. I hope in 2 months we don't see her looking like a toothpick and being pushed into an eating disorder clinic...

    We're Bringin' Curvy Back!

I love Katy's curves! She's fabulously voluptuous!! And, she was a charm to work with. She brought great ideas, and a suitcase packed full with inspiring wardrobe pieces....and shoes, shoes, shoes. She also had a special knack for posing her body and nailing the perfect facial expressions. I think her background in theater can be thanked for that. :)

What I love about Katy is that she came to the session with a CONFIDENCE that exuded into her images, making them even more gorgeous. So for advice: when you come in for your session, come in with confidence and self-esteem, knowing that you are a beautiful woman and that these photos will only add to your existing beauty.

Image Provocateur can be thanked for the fab hair and makeup!

This is one of my favorites from the session. Ah, isn't that retro Victoria Secret Angel just darling? By the way, this photo features one of our cute ruffle panties that's included in most of our packages (variety of colors available).

This was a fun set I wanted to try out...and it worked perfectly with her robe!

Could fatigue be even more intriguing?

I like how this image is reminiscent of a vintage glamour portrait. She looks like a Hollywood starlet.

    Another Fabulous Pin-up Model....

....the great thing is, she's not really a model at all! She's a regular gal like the rest of us...but she looks absolutely fabulous! I love when clients first come in and warn me how unsure and silly they feel in front of the camera, but once they take a peek of themselves in the camera, they say "Wow, that doesn't look like me!" And then, when they view their entire session online, their biggest issue becomes, "Too many good ones to choose from!" I love the warm and toasty feeling I get when I know a gal has gotten an extra confidence boost.

FYI: Image Provocateur salon did her hair and makeup!--which by the way is included in our session packages ;)

You can't do a pin-up shoot without the "Uh Oh!" I looove her cherry tattoo! How appropriate. She's wearing one of our featured Sailor Girl outfits. (We've got'em in all sizes!)

The soft look in her gaze is so intriguing in this photo. Plus, how could you go wrong when you have the fabulous Vintage Glam Wallpaper behind you?

This is one of my favorites from the session. She looks like she's starring in an old movie scene...

    The Fabulous Agata!

Last week, I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing Agata. With this session, and others just recently, I've begun to realize another reason why I love what I do: meeting new, interesting people and getting the opportunity to catch a small glimpse into their awesome lives.

I'm often surprised what I learn about my clients during their sessions. There's always something interesting about each one, whether it's a special talent, hobby, occupation, personal experience, etc. I've run into music artists of various genres, world travelers, and....and...well that's all I can come up with right now. I'll get back to you on that.

But back to the fabulous Agata. During our session, I learned that she's from Poland, and she takes the looooong flight back home to visit her family at least once a year. I think she said that travel time is around 20 hours. Yikes! And, she's gonna take that trip with toddler. Double Yikes!!

Her photos came out gorgeous. I think she's an undercover model...

Be sure to vote for your favorite photo from Agata's session so that she can receive her free 8x10 print. Only 15 votes needed! Submit your vote by clicking on the Comments link below this post.

As we were shooting, I caught sight of Agata's beautiful profile, and I just had to do a series of images that showcased her "model-ique" features. We had fun trying to figure out the best way to pose with the pearls.

She's in a heavy metal band (cool!), so we incorporated music into the set--hence the earphones and the records.

This photo is absolutely gorgeous! I don't think she knows how truly beautiful she really is...well I hope this image will give her some kind of reassurance! ;)

    I absolutely loooove this wallpaper!

Hey there Captain! She did fabulous with the pose. She was actually laughing at the time, and it worked perfectly! Too cute...

This photo has a little mysterious vibe to it...

Cookoo for Polka Dots (Sacramento Pin-up Photography)

I've been meaning to post more info about the Pin-up and Boudoir sessions, but we've been so busy lately. If you are interested in finding out more info about the sessions, please email me so that I can send you the necessary forms, price lists, menus, etc.

Here's a lovely photo from a recent Pin-up session. Isn't she just darling! This particular model had her hair and makeup done especially for the shoot by our recommended salon, Image Provocateur--whose services, by the way, are included in our session packages. They did a fabulous job.

I'm in love with the retro polka dot bathing suit! (We carry these bathing suits in various sizes, and don't worry, we definitely have ways of keeping things sanitary!) I'm going to get one for myself so that I can wear it to Sunsplash!

More photos from this session are on the way...

...And here's the rest of them...

As promised, here are a few more images from the family portrait session mentioned in the previous entry. We had a lot of fun during the session--the kids and the baby combo made the session extra action packed! By giving the baby a few breaks here and there, everything turned out just lovely.

Be sure to vote for your favorite photo so that the family can win their free 8x10 print! Just click on the "comments" link below and leave your message. Only 15 votes needed! (Don't forget to include the 2 photos from the previous entry.)
