Lan and Bay came in for a maternity session, and we had a fantabulous time. Miss Lan is due any day now--Yippeee!
Photo #1: "Stretch." Surprisingly, Lan is still quite limber. I didn't think she would be able to get her legs up there without my assistance, but she had no problem at all....and she was able to hold the pose for quite some time too! PS: love the flower tattoo.
Photo #2: "Belly Bump." I love the detail of her skin.
Photo #3: "Simply Angelic."
Photo #4: "Intimacy." Is this sizzlin' hot and sweet, or what!?
Photo #6: "Flowy."

This Babycakes Session is a first of its kind. Why? Well because we've never had 2 kids tearing up one cake...and we've never had kids over 1 year old participating. So this became a funtabulous experiment.
Because both boy's birthdays are days apart, mom decided that a "2-for-1 birthday party" is the way to go. We did this Babycakes Session to commemorate their 7 year and 2 year birthdays, and to have a chance to show off some of their pictures at their party.
Photo #1: "Vintage is Fun!" How flippin cute and fun is this?! Mom really wanted the boys to be dressed up in formal gear.
Photo #2: "2 Cutie Pies." Ahh, ain't it darling when siblings are so nice to each other? I was never that nice to my brothers. I didn't want them touching me at all!
Photo #3: "Do you smell what The Rock is cookin'?" If you aren't rollin' on the floor laughing at this, you need to tune-up your funny meter.
Photo #4: "Don't You Dare." Lil' brother wasn't too fond of the cake. He really didn't want to get dirty. Sooo, Big brother teased him of course!
Photo #5: "Here Comes Trouble." Don't overlook the frosting eyebrows, nose, and beard.
Photo #6: "Entertainer of the Year." This guy's got tons of personality!
Photo #7: "Act 2: The Pose." He kept dishing it out, and I kept snapping the pictures.
Photo #8: "Soon things got a little tiring..."
Photo #9: "A Picture Worth 1000 Words." There's so many things going on in this picture. First, you've got Big Bro giving the camera major attitude. Then you've got mom trying to persuade Lil' Bro back onto the set. Lastly, there's Lil' Bro with his toys screaming all the way.
Photo #10: "Not John Cena!" The boys are really into the whole WWE (wrestling) thing. So one of the tactics we used to persuade Lil' Bro back onto the set was to bury his John Cena wrestling figure into the cake...it didn't work.
Photo #11: "Before and After." Can you believe the whole cake was reduced down to smashed dough on the floor? It's the most demolished cake in Nellie Photography history!
Photo #12: "Attitude." I swear, he needs to audition for Disney. His shirt says: If you can read this, you are in my way.
We created some Photo Thank You Cards for the boy's party:

Miss Krissy here doesn't regularly luxuriate in makeup and sexiness. She is a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl. So this chance to get all dolled-up was a BIG deal.
She did her Pin-up and Boudoir Session as a gift for her HERO of a man who lives aaalll the way in Illinois (pooh. Long distance relationships suck). He is a Grade A hero because he's served in the military for over 10 years and he just recently returned from Afghanistan, and then to top it all off, he serves us on the homefront as a police officer. So to put it bluntly--he's great. ;)
And because Krissy is his Lady, we were excited to offer her a fabulous Military Wives discount and gift. Check it out here.
Photo #1: "Tousled Hair." I like this one cuz she's sort of "caught in action."
Photo #2: "Don't Be Timid." This is one of my favs from the session.Photo #4: "The Leg Lift." Whew, this pose takes work! Just wait till you try it!
Be sure to vote for your favorite photo so that Krissy can receive her free 8x10 print. The winning photo needs only 15 votes! Post your vote by clicking on the "Comments" link below.

It seems fitting that I bring this up today, Veteran's Day. I recently received an email from a former client, Alondra. She serves in the military and in her email she notified me that she has been deployed to Afghanistan. My immediate thought: Whoa, how scary.
Here's some photos from Alondra's session. She's a part of our Brave and Beautiful.
Receiving her email and with the holidays approaching, I want to offer a special promotion in honor of our troops:
**A BRAND NEW PRODUCT and a Special Offer!**

Quiet, reserved, meek, but unbelievably strong. These are the words I would use to describe Amber. Personally, I admire Amber's strength to deal with what life has dealt her. She did this Pin-up & Boudoir photo session as a gift to herself and her husband.
Although completely out of her character, Amber worked up the nerve to get sexified in front of a camera--and she was pretty gosh darn good at it.
Amber's hair was absolutely fab! The fab hair was brought to you by Image Provocateur & VIP-CAT Makeup Academy: http://www.imageprov.com/ (give them a holla')
Photo #1: "Hawaiian Tropics." Amber chose our Hawaiian Holiday set because she said it reminded her of when her Air Force hubby was on duty.
Photo #2: "A Lei for You." Isn't the purple flower GORGEOUS! Me loves!

Shontelle came in to do a Pin-up & Boudoir Session to:
1. celebrate her 21st birthday and
2. give a gift to her boyfriend.
In fact, her birthday celebration began the night before her photo session. Even though she was still guzzlin' down the alcohol just a few hours before, Shontelle was able to show up to her session GORGEOUS, upright, and READY to ROLL, even with a slight hangover. Dedication, baby!
Photo #1: "La Bella Mafia." One of my favs from the session. Top-notch beauty.
Photo #2: "Relaxed and Fun." The aqua shoes and panties are the perfect "pop" of color for this photo.
Photo #3: "Risk-kay Bay-bay." That's one HOT-pink corset!
Photo #4: "Serene." Love the soft, vulnerableness (is this a word?).

I don't usually watch So You Think You Can Dance, but on this particular night, I was just browsing around looking for something interesting. I arrived on this performance at the most perfect time.
This is a dance routine created by choreographer, Tyce Diorio, as a tribute to breast cancer fighters--and I have to warn you, it's incredibly emotional and touching. I've never been so deeply affected by a dance routine before. Please watch all 7 minutes of this video...and a grab a tissue.
As the judges in the video mentioned, I too find it brave and honorable that the choreographer was able to express such a painful subject so beautifully. Especially since I still find it hard to tell others about my dad without tearing up. It's been 2 years and I still haven't been able to tell you guys about my most life-changing event. Someday soon I will.
During this Breast Cancer Awareness month, I've seemed to be bombarded by those that have been affected and involved in the cause--One of my clients notified me she was participating in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk and asked for my sponsorship. And just this past weekend, I did a shoot with a new client who revealed that she participated in the Walk in honor of her mother who lost her battle with cancer. She also works in a breast cancer screening facility.
What has all of this "awareness" revealed to me? That everyone in some way has been touched by cancer. It's everywhere. You know someone who has had cancer more so than you know someone who will have had swine flu. And sadly, in my family, it's how many of us meet our demise. Secretly, I feel that one day I too will enter the battle against cancer.
So for these reasons, I have become involved. I have never participated in the Breast Cancer Walk, but as of this year, I have become a donater. Not just to breast cancer, but to all cancer because liver, lung, and breast cancer have personally effected my family.
If you would like to make a donation to the American Cancer Society, click the link below. It's very easy. Even $5 helps.
