Pin-up Girl Gina: O'hoy Mates!

Gina is an aspiring Pin-up Model. She's going to add the photos from this shoot to her portfolio (whoop whoop!). Can you believe she's a mommy too?!

Achieving an attractive Pin-up pose isn't very easy to do. It literally involves posing from head to fingers to toes. It takes just enough concentration and discomfort to make you (and me) sweat. But Miss Gina glided through her poses like butter! She "popped" right into her poses and needed little direction. 2 star stickers for her!

There were so many great photos from Gina's session that I had a hard time choosing which one's to post!

Photo #1: "Simply Classic". Ain't it cute? I'm proud to say that we carry this sailor girl dress in many sizes at our studio.

Photo #2: "You Don't Say?" This is actually one of my favorites because it's a great shot of Gina's side-sweeping hair. I also like the "muchness" of her eyes--large eyes look fab in photos. ;)

Photo #3: "Ducks, Bubbles, and Pointed Toes".

Remember Amber? She came in for a Pin-up & Boudoir Session a while back.

Well, now Amber has returned, and this time she is pregnant with a baby girl! I'm so happy for her and her family. This is a special blessing for them.

For her Maternity Session, Amber reprised the beautiful purple flower she wore in her hair during her Pin-up Session.

Photo #1: "The Warm Belly." I think Amber looks gorgeous and natural in this shot.

Photo #2: "The Warm Belly II." I couldn't decide between the black and white image or this color image. I love them both!

Photo #3: "I Spy With My Little Eye." A little boy who was supposed to lay his head on his mommy's belly and keep his eyes closed. But whatever! This shot was cute and worked! Sometimes 2 year olds will work with you and sometimes not. He was actually a pretty good listener, one of the best! :)

Photo #4: "The Look Back." We had the fan blowing for this shot, which worked quite well for us because we both were going through HOT FLASHES.

Photo #5: "Smells Like Roses." We caught him just in time for this photo. The little guy did not want to sit and "smell the roses." He was on the move. He had things to do. But I was able to snap this shot just before he slid down to the floor...

Photo #6: "Kiss Mommy's Belly." What more can ask of a boy who's soon to become Big Brother? He's got a lot weighing on his mind, ya know?

Photo #7: "Hearts and Footsies." Showing the love between Mother and Father and the love and anticipation they both share for their unborn baby = Tender.

Photo #8: "Hawaiian Shirts." You should have seen when the little guy had on his shades--he was too cool for TV!

Panda and Tiger Imposters

I saw this little news clip and I just had to show someone.

An Asian zoo has dyed chow dogs and golden retrievers to resemble panda bears and tigers in order to attract more visitors.

I don't know how they did it, but it looks adorable!! Ya'll know I love me some dogs! :)

What I Did This Weekend--Pie!

So, on Sunday we all went up to my grandparent's house for dinner. My aunt usually doesn't cook, but when she does--it is the biz-nazz!! I looove when auntie R cooks!!

Anyways, she also brought all the makings for a sweet potatoe pie and to top it off: She gave me my own personal lesson! So now I know how to make "Potatoe Pie", baby! It's actually a verrry simple recipe, but a huge accomplishment for me.

Here's my very proud uncooked creation:

(By the way, the crust isn't made from scratch. It's Marie Calendars.)

Nothing was measured out. We just had to keep tasting it until it was just right. I'm prepping the oven right now. There's no set time on the oven either (just 350 degrees). My aunt instructed me that when you start smelling it, it's almost ready. Then once it rises up and then falls back down, it's done. We'll see how well I follow these simple directions later this afternoon...

(Update: Don't worry guys. I'm not rockin' the split-ends anymore. I've had a few hair cuts since this photo was taken. LOL.)

Yes, after many years, I've finally joined the "Bride to Be" club!!!! Whoop whoop, yeah baby, work it, work it!!

So here's the nitty on the gritty:

My boyfriend, Willie, and I were out and about when all of a sudden it started raining. I made a dash for the car. As I was about to shut the car door, Willie shouted, "Wait"! I turned to look at him and saw that he was in the process of getting down on one knee. He pulled a Ring Pop out of his jacket pocket and began his "speech".

(He proposed with a Ring Pop like this):

I have to be honest. My first reaction was: "Hey, where's the real ring? Is this the really-real proposal?" The reason I felt this way was because we've been together since high school, and he's "proposed" before--but we were too young back then. But it turned out that this was the REAL proposal and the real ring was actually being sized.

By the way: He actually did end up proposing all over again once he placed the official ring on my finger...this time he did it in front of my mom! The poor guy had to propose like 3 times! LOL!

So, I've been in a "happy place" for a couple weeks now. I'll definitely be keeping you up to date on this new and exciting milestone in my life.

Pinks, Pearls, and Puffy Cheeks

Meet Zoe. Zoe has been to the studio before (as shown in the above maternity photo) but she wanted to come in again to be the solo star of her own personal photo session. So we gave her a Newborn Session!

The goal during this newborn session was to have Zoe sleep the whole time, but that wasn't her plan. Miss Zoe stayed awake and fussed almost the whole session. We ended up having to cut the session short and schedule a round 2. Between the two sessions, we ended up with some great shots.

Miss Zoe did not want to close her eyes! She was so interested in what was going on. But that's okay, because this photo is just darling! By the way, our original idea was to have Zoe booty-naked on the towels, but then she left us a little "surprise". Mom cleaned up and then we decided a diaper would work just as well.

Photo #2: "Oh what a tooshie!"
This photo was achieved during the 2nd session--when Zoe finally cooperated with us! Tee. Hee.

Pin-up Girl Rhiannon

Wowwee. I was super duper excited when Rhiannon came in for her Pin-up & Boudoir photo session, because she brought bookoo props. Fun, cute, bookoo props!

Rhiannon is one spunky lady. She did this shoot for her boyfriend for his birthday. She's also hoping this will be a start to her side job as a Pin-up model.

Actually, she's already given her boyfriend his gift and here was the follow-up email she sent me:

Hey Janelle,

I gave my man his gift last night and he was SPEECHLESS!!! He had no idea at all, and couldn't believe it was me in those pictures :] Needless to say, I think this was a job well done! Thank you so much! ...

(I love follow-up emails that have warm, fuzzy things to say!)

Image Provocateur did a fabulous job on the retro hairstyle. They even added real fresh flowers to accent Rhiannon's hair!

Photo #1: "Suzie Home-maker." I must say that Rhiannon gave great "face."
By the way, the title of this cookbook is: "Cooking with Love". Ahh, how sweet.
Another side note: Rhiannon's handy dandy assistant for the day, Bambi, helped construct the cute apron...Bambi is also her maybe soon-to-be-mother-in-law.

Photo #3: "The Red Swimsuit." And! Don't you know that you can get this spiffy swimsuit at Walmart!? Yes! Walmart is selling vintage styling swimsuits! I think Everyone has officially jumped on the bandwagon.

Photo #4: "27 Candles." Rhiannon was so prepared she even brought a cute little cake with numbered candles for her boyfriend's 27th.

The Pink Corset

Meet Teresa. She came in for a Pinup & Boudoir Session with her cousin, Crystal (who you met in a previous blog post).

During the session, I learned that Teresa is one BONAFIDE sweetheart. She was a constant cheerleader on the sidelines during her cousin's shoot--always reassuring, always complimenting.

...pause for a BRIGHT IDEA: I should hire her to be a permanent fixture at the studio!--The Positive Polly Peanut Gallery!

Teresa also gets a round o' applause for working out the difficult poses I asked her to try. She had a slight physical challenge due to her back--but like I said, we worked it out and she's da bomb!

Remember I mentioned my Jersey Shore hottie, Pauly D? Well, I was watching the news this morning, and I found out that he was deejaying at a club in Sacramento last night. He was signing autographs, taking pictures, and the whole bit! I'm livid! I can't believe I missed him! Gosh darn it.

I Seen It In 3D!

Finally! I went to see Avatar at the IMAX Theatre in 3D. I wore the huge silly 3D glasses and everything! It was my first experience ever seeing anything in 3D...and it was flippin' awesome! The 3D glasses reminded me of the huge sunglasses they wore on the newer Charlie and the Chocolate Factory when Mike TV was shrunk down.

Anyways, I say it's worth the $40 to see Avatar! Although, it is like an updated version of Pocahontas.

PS: I loooove movie popcorn. I get a large popcorn "to go" sometimes...with extra butter. I come prepared with a Tupperware container so that I can easily transport it in the car. I know, I know--it's sinful and embarrassing.

Back and Better Than Ever!

Yep, she's back in the hizOUSE! It's the return of Miss Ashley. She came in for a Pin-up & Boudoir Session last year, and she just couldn't stay away.

This time she came in to surprise her man by being photographed while wearing gear from his own clothing line, Pirate Trash. Cute idea, huh? Makes me wish my man had his own clothing line!

Photo #1: "A Pirate Trash Babe."

Photo #2: "Well That's a Nice Back." This one is screaming to be in the Spring 2010 Pirate Trash Catalog.

Photo #3: "Hey Hot Stuff." What's really funny is that the fan in this photo was almost a necessity more so than a prop cuz Ashley was'a BURNIN'. She was so hot, we had to kick on the "blow the wind through your hair" diva fan. I'm sure the glasses of champagne weren't much of a help. ;)

Photo #4: "Sweet and Pink and Cupcakes." For some reason, this photo seems light and airy and reminds me of cotton candy.

Photo #5: "Stand Up and Take Control" ...and wear spicy shoes while you're at it. I must say that me loves the new haircut and color.

If you've been in for a Pin-up & Boudoir Session, you already know how hard it is to physically get into the poses. It takes muscle control, a little sweat, shallow breathing, and a wish upon a star...then on top of that, you've got to make it look like it doesn't hurt and give sexy face. For these reasons, some call me The Drill Sergeant.

Rihanna's Latest

I just got my February issue of W Magazine, featuring Rihanna. I had to post this photo cuz:

1. I'm stuck on the "Love" tattoo between her fingers. If I was brave enough, I would get that same tattoo on my left ring finger. Personally, I've never seen a tattoo like it--I'm obviously not a tattoo-nista. I'm pretty ignorant on that stuff.

2. The hat is adorable. I think I need that too.

Kelli: A Pin-up Model in the Works?

I've got to catch up on quite a few blog posts. Forgive me--I've been working on updating the new website. More on that coming soon...but for now, someone very special: Kelli!

Poor Kelli had quite a time trying to get to her Pin-up & Boudoir Session.

1st Mishap: She went to a salon to get her hair done. The salon appointment ended up running overtime. She had to give me a call to tell me she was going to be a little late.

2nd Mishap: As she was getting ready to pay the stylist, she realized she didn't have her ATM card with her. She soon discovered she left her card in the ATM machine she visited earlier that morning. Panic and phone calls to the bank ensued. Thankfully, her husband had enough cash on him to pay the stylist.

3rd Mishap: Even though the stylist was payed, Kelli HATED what was done to her hair. It looked like crap. Because she looked like crap, Kelli began to cry. Thus, she began to ruin her makeup. She then called to tell me that she had no money, no checks, no ATM card, she looked like a mess, and she was apologizing for be so late (it had been over an hour). I reassured her that there was still time to do her session, we could repair her hair and makeup, and she could pay her final balance the day after her session. She complied.

4th Mishap: She called back 15 minutes later to say that she decided not to come. She was wrecked physically and emotionally. To top it off, she was heading to the wrong address anyways.

Well after all that, I think Kelli had enough material to qualify for her own reality show! Her husband told her he felt like he was with a bride on her wedding day. Tee Hee.

We ended up rescheduling for the following week. This time, Kelli did her own hair and things went a lot smoother. In fact, she rocked it out.

Photo #1: The Leg Lift. Kelli is thinking about pursuing a part-time career as a Pin-up model. After this shoot, I think she proved she can definitely do it.

Photo #2: "Charlie's Angel." Question: What's super hot about this image? Answer: Her hubby might use it as a tattoo. He'll have his own personal Pin-up girl on his arm at all times...that's hot!

Photo #3: "Cutsie."

Photo #4: "Sugar-Coated." With a cherry on top. What I loved about Kelli, was her fabulous ease into all the difficult Pin-up styled poses. You can tell SOMEBODY's been practicing in front of the mirror!! ;)

Photo #5 : "Oh My!" This is one of my favs cuz of her beautiful ghostly blue eyes.

Photo #6: "Green with Envy." Strikingly gorgeous!

How-dee-do 2010!

We've showcased so many fabulous photos on the blog this past year and now the time has come: The Best Photos of 2009 featured on the Nellie Photography Blog. The photos listed here are some of my personal favorites. Here's the top 10:

1. Just One More Drop. Amy's squinty-drunk eyes are CLASSIC! This photo tickles me every time.

2. Boop-Boop-Be-Doop. This photo was the debut of our new Viva La Zebra set last year. Miss Alicia was fab-you-luss!

3. The Bride at the Window. This is easily one of my favorites for obvious reasons: beautiful. Plus, some of you may recognize this bride as my assistant, Cara!

4. The Babycakes Collage. Little Moises here, rocked this shoot off its hinges! What really puts the "icing on the cake" is his tux and the part in his hair.

This has become a highly requested shoot for tots celebrating their 1st birthdays. The series of photos created during the session are one of a kind hilarious--plus it's a cherished milestone in the child's life.

5. Melissa and Her Lollipop Spanking. This has become a popular requested pose--You naughty girls you!

6. Vibrant Violet. This was taken at a fashion shoot at the erie and mysterious Preston Castle. I especially love the rich colors in this photo.

I didn't see it before, but if you look closely in the left window, you may be able to see the ghostly face of a child....SIKE YOUR MIND MAKE YOUR BOOTY SHINE!! Just wanted to give you some chills.

7. A Bride's Tail is Her Veil. Kim came up with this hot bridal pose idea. SCORE!

8. Belly Love. I'm super excited about this silhouette-type image because it's a new style of lighting that I've been waiting to try.

9. She Loves Her Jordans. This photo gets props because it was unbelievably hard to achieve this pose. Your Pose Challenge: Try having your buns hover above your head, but still have your face lookin' cute.

10. Curl-lushness. This photo always strikes me cuz of that beautiful golden curl. My, what bedroom-eyes you have there!

Honorable Mentions:

The Laugh. I love the slight blurred-motion feeling in this photo. Plus it's so Marilyn Monroe-esque.

The Scream. If Nina was lookin' for emotion, she found it. I love the detail and the drama.

Lan and Bay came in for a maternity session, and we had a fantabulous time. Miss Lan is due any day now--Yippeee!

Photo #1: "Stretch." Surprisingly, Lan is still quite limber. I didn't think she would be able to get her legs up there without my assistance, but she had no problem at all....and she was able to hold the pose for quite some time too! PS: love the flower tattoo.

Babycakes Session: Big Bro & Little Bro

This Babycakes Session is a first of its kind. Why? Well because we've never had 2 kids tearing up one cake...and we've never had kids over 1 year old participating. So this became a funtabulous experiment.

Because both boy's birthdays are days apart, mom decided that a "2-for-1 birthday party" is the way to go. We did this Babycakes Session to commemorate their 7 year and 2 year birthdays, and to have a chance to show off some of their pictures at their party.

Photo #1: "Vintage is Fun!" How flippin cute and fun is this?! Mom really wanted the boys to be dressed up in formal gear.

Photo #2: "2 Cutie Pies." Ahh, ain't it darling when siblings are so nice to each other? I was never that nice to my brothers. I didn't want them touching me at all!

Photo #3: "Do you smell what The Rock is cookin'?" If you aren't rollin' on the floor laughing at this, you need to tune-up your funny meter.

Photo #4: "Don't You Dare." Lil' brother wasn't too fond of the cake. He really didn't want to get dirty. Sooo, Big brother teased him of course!

Photo #5: "Here Comes Trouble." Don't overlook the frosting eyebrows, nose, and beard.

Photo #6: "Entertainer of the Year." This guy's got tons of personality!

Photo #7: "Act 2: The Pose." He kept dishing it out, and I kept snapping the pictures.

Photo #8: "Soon things got a little tiring..."

Photo #9: "A Picture Worth 1000 Words." There's so many things going on in this picture. First, you've got Big Bro giving the camera major attitude. Then you've got mom trying to persuade Lil' Bro back onto the set. Lastly, there's Lil' Bro with his toys screaming all the way.

Photo #10: "Not John Cena!" The boys are really into the whole WWE (wrestling) thing. So one of the tactics we used to persuade Lil' Bro back onto the set was to bury his John Cena wrestling figure into the cake...it didn't work.

Photo #11: "Before and After." Can you believe the whole cake was reduced down to smashed dough on the floor? It's the most demolished cake in Nellie Photography history!

Photo #12: "Attitude." I swear, he needs to audition for Disney. His shirt says: If you can read this, you are in my way.

Pin-up Girl: Amber

Quiet, reserved, meek, but unbelievably strong. These are the words I would use to describe Amber. Personally, I admire Amber's strength to deal with what life has dealt her. She did this Pin-up & Boudoir photo session as a gift to herself and her husband.

Although completely out of her character, Amber worked up the nerve to get sexified in front of a camera--and she was pretty gosh darn good at it.

A Thought on Breast Cancer Awareness

I don't usually watch So You Think You Can Dance, but on this particular night, I was just browsing around looking for something interesting. I arrived on this performance at the most perfect time.

This is a dance routine created by choreographer, Tyce Diorio, as a tribute to breast cancer fighters--and I have to warn you, it's incredibly emotional and touching. I've never been so deeply affected by a dance routine before.

As the judges in the video mentioned, I too find it brave and honorable that the choreographer was able to express such a painful subject so beautifully. Especially since I still find it hard to tell others about my dad without tearing up. It's been 2 years and I still haven't been able to tell you guys about my most life-changing event. Someday soon I will.

During this Breast Cancer Awareness month, I've seemed to be bombarded by those that have been affected and involved in the cause--One of my clients notified me she was participating in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk and asked for my sponsorship. And just this past weekend, I did a shoot with a new client who revealed that she participated in the Walk in honor of her mother who lost her battle with cancer. She also works in a breast cancer screening facility.

What has all of this "awareness" revealed to me? That everyone in some way has been touched by cancer. It's everywhere. You know someone who has had cancer more so than you know someone who will have had swine flu. And sadly, in my family, it's how many of us meet our demise. Secretly, I feel that one day I too will enter the battle against cancer.

So for these reasons, I have become involved. I have never participated in the Breast Cancer Walk, but as of this year, I have become a donater. Not just to breast cancer, but to all cancer because liver, lung, and breast cancer have personally effected my family.

Yep, sometimes we go so far as to do photo shoots with men. ;)

Earlier this year, we did a headshot shoot for Terry who was looking to use photos for his upcoming gospel album. The shoot was full of jokes, crack-ups, and silly faces. At times it was hard for Terry to keep a straight face. He's one of those people that you can just look at and you'll both start laughing. He's light-spirited and good-humored--a joy to work with. In the end, we came up with some great stuff.

As promised, here's more of Kathryn.

Kathryn already knew her way around the studio because she came in some months before to support/hang/help out during her friend Melissa's Pin-up & Boudoir session. In turn, Melissa later presented Kathryn with a gift certificate for a photo session at our studio as a bridal shower gift (yay!).

Kathryn was pumped and super excited during her session, especially since she's been toning up at the gym to prepare for her wedding day.

So I received an email from a client the other day. Remember Danielle with the most gorgeous head of red hair? (Here's a visual to help you out...)

Well, she's the bomb-diggity cuz she's throwing an event on 9/19 (THIS SATURDAY) to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk. This charity has significant meaning to Danielle because her father, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, died on 5/16 of this year. She has arranged this event in his honor.

The event is a raffle party with live music, drink specials, and great prizes. Some of those prizes include salon gift certificates, coffee, personal trainer sessions, and massages. I couldn't pass up this opportunity to donate so I entered a free Pin-up & Boudoir Session, complete with hair, makeup, and an album.

In Greek mythology, Athena was known as the the bright-eyed warrior Goddess. Our Athena here, is a bright-eyed soccer warrior Goddess. Chickity-chickity-check it out...

Photo #1: "Hanes Her Way Baybay." I fell in love with this photo for the serene glance, the wispy hair, the simple lingerie, and the beautiful tattoo.

Photo #2: "With a Smile Made For Advertising." When I saw this image for the first time, I immediately thought it was ad worthy. So of course I created one!

Photo #3: "Just a Taste." Athena wanted to incorporate some birthday cupcakes into her shoot cuz these photos are a gift for her hubby. Who could resist this vintage housewife?

Photo #4: "Gettin' Sassy on the Viva La Zebra Set". This corset gets an A+ for showing off her curves.

Photo #5: "Aaah, What a Cute and Spunky Bat Girl." Athena was so creative--she brought props that had sentimental value to both herself and her man. The bat and the ball featured in this photo are an example.

Well, there's a story and you know I'ma tell it! So...the bat was made by Athena especially for her hubby. The bat has both of their names and team numbers imprinted on the side (cute!). And the ball...the ball is super duper importontay. It is the ball from her hubby's very very first home run--the one he made when he was a wee little boy. So as you can see, Athena has smacked this photo full of personalized flavor.

Apparently S-E-X Sales

So I was trying to clear out some of my old magazines (3 boxes full and more coming in every month. Yikes! What have I succumbed to?). But then I began to notice a trend with the Cosmopolitan magazine. At first I was like: Wow, that's interesting. But then it just started to get annoying.

Every left-hand corner of every issue of Cosmo has the word "SEX" typed in big capital letters. SEX SEX SEX like that's all women really want to read about. Like those 3 letters are what catches our eye and makes us pick up that magazine.

What annoyed me the most: It seems to work. I've apparently fallen for it. They've herded us in like cattle.

By the way, I cancelled my subscription to Cosmo about a year ago. Their articles were just a little too redundant...

Besides, there's only so many ways to kiss, so many positions, so many ways to ask him out, and so many ways to apply smokey eye makeup that after 4 months of issues, the magazine just seems to repeat itself. Same stuff just different pictures.

An Allergic Reaction

Once upon a time there was a little dog named Ginger. One morning she walked into her owner's room. The owner glanced over at her and thought, "My what a funny looking face she has. She must be storing food in her mouth like a hamster." Later that same morning, the owner looked at Ginger again and said in a more concerned tone, "What the heck is wrong with your face?! Why are you so puffy?" Ginger had no idea what the owner was talking about. The End.

Well not exactly. Ginger's face was indeed puffy. I semi panicked thinking about how much another vet visit was gonna cost. But then I came up with a plan of action? Google of course! I Googled "dog puffy snouts" like a madman.

After scrolling through the worst case scenarios, I finally settled on the puffy snout being a result of an allergic reaction. And since she was breathing normally, there wasn't much to be worried about.

My theory: A pesky little bug bite. By the evening, all was good in the neighborhood.

Definately Not From Boringville

Those of us from the land of Boringville think that if you had a photo shoot at noon the next day, you would try to get a good night's rest to make sure you looked your brightest. But not Julie. She's a Rockstar. She can party all night, rest a few hours, get up and perform for a photo session, all while looking fabulous.

The night before her Pin-up & Boudoir Session, Julie shared a screamin' Bachelor/Bachelorette party with her future hubby in Sacramento. Because they're not from Sacramento, Julie couldn't just leave her man snoozing on the couch the next day while she went off to her photo shoot. So she had to wake up, drag her man into the car, and tote him along with her throughout the day.

During the shoot, Julie's man slept in the car blasting the AC. What a patient guy! Lord knows a hangover in 100 degree weather is nothing to fool around with. What kept him from bursting through the door, begging for water, and pleading for the whole shoot fiasco to be over? Knowing that the pay-off would be as sweet as fried twinkies. The sexiest gift a gal can give to her guy.

Yep, just by looking at her, you wouldn't believe that Janeen just had a baby a few weeks before this Pin-up & Boudoir Session. In her pre-session questionnaire, Janeen told me she still had baby weight to loose. But then, when she came in for her session, I was like: Girl, you crazy! Well...she definitely brings us all to shame.

(I just have to tell you, I'm like bursting at the seams!) Why Janeen is extra fabulous on my list: The baby she recently gave birth to was for a couple of her friends. She was a gestational surrogate for them! All I can say is: Wow. What more selfless, precious gift can one give?

FYI: Ms. Janeen here is the same Janeen mentioned in the previous blog post. She is one busy bee--Organizing charity backpack drives, co-owning a DJ business (D3 Productions), having babies, and topping it all off with taking the time to get all sexified for a photo shoot for her hubby.

Photo #1: "Milk and Cookies." Seemed to be an appropriate title cuz of the weird coloring of this image. The coloring resembles what happens to your cup of milk once you're done dunking all of your Oreo Cookies in it--a delicious light shade of grey.

Now I'm bout to get real deep on ya: "Milk and Cookies" is also an appropriate title cuz Janeen's beauty is just that: Natural as the pairing of milk and cookies and simply delicious. (HA! I'm a literary genius!)

Giving Back: Jillian's Backpack Drive

I tried to Google an image of a kid carrying a backpack, but instead Google guided me to this weird, slightly disturbing photo that I can't figure out...

But anyways, let's get serious for a moment:

I know that times are tough right now, and it seems that with every month, times are only getting tougher. With the end of summer approaching, parents are once again faced with the task of back-to-school shopping. The painful truth is that this time around, back-to-school shopping will be harder on the pockets, especially since our area schools don't have the funds to provide some of the basic supplies. For this reason, Nellie Photography will be donating to Jillian's Backpack Drive.

I also chose to donate to Jillian's Backpack Drive because I was impressed by Jillian--a young girl interested in finding ways to help others in her community. (You've gotta check out the website! She's a sweetie! http://www.jilliansbackpackdrive.com/) I also personally know Jillian's mom and dad. In fact, I've posted them on the blog before because they own a fabulous DJ business, D3 Productions DJ Services (http://www.djd3productions.com/). What a talented and giving family.

I encourage you to donate as well...if not to this particular organization, then to someone or something else. Now's the time when we really need each other's help. Here's the letter I received asking for my participation:

We are excited to announce that Jillian's 4th Annual Backpack Drive has been launched! As many of you know, each summer we collect backpacks and school supplies for 6 weeks. We then fill each backpack with a complete set up supplies and donate those backpacks to local non-profits that provide services to children in need.

In 2008 we also connected with families in need directly. After spreading the word about Jillian's Backpack Drive on KSFM 102.5, we had several families contact us and express a need for backpacks for their children. We met with and provided backpacks to 11 children whose families are working hard to survive in these difficult economic times.

Photo #1: "Oops I Did It Again." This photo just screams "Brittany Spears!"

Man oh man. Julie had a heckofa time 2 weeks before her wedding in Mexico.

First, she came down with a terrible virus--ear infections in both ears, sinus infection, the whole nine. Because of her sickness, we weren't sure if she'd be able to do her Pin-up & Boudoir session before she left for Mexico.

Then, do you remember the whole Swine Flu outbreak and panic that supposedly originated in Mexico? Well, this all happened a few days before her wedding. Julie didn't even know if they'd be able to fly out to Cabo and even more importantly: Get back into the USA! She had only 15 guests coming to the wedding, and some of them began bailing out because of the big scare. What a nightmare!

But after one reschedule due to her illness, Julie was able to come in for her photo session. And thankfully, after the nation began to realize that the Swine Flu was not as ferocious as first believed, Julie's fear of being denied her Mexico wedding subsided. Things began looking up!

Trash the Dress at the Preston Castle...and Ghosts!

All I can say is: Wowwee. I had quite an adventure at this shoot and I want to thank Jessie of Jessie Cho Photography for allowing me to be a part of this whole production.

The Breakdown: There were 7 or 8 photographers, a handful of models, hair and makeup artists (Image Provocateur, http://www.imageprov.com/ ), and about 15 or more gorgeous locally designed dresses. We all met at the Preston Castle to shoot the always enticing phenomenon that is beautiful women in dresses standing in grungy, crumbling locations.

If Marlboro sold cigars to brides, their ad campaigns would look something like this:

I'm sure by now you're wondering what this Preston Castle is all about. Well, here's a little history for ya: The castle is in Ione, and "the land was purchased to house the Preston School of Industry, established by the State Legislature as a progressive action toward rehabilitating, rather than simply imprisoning, juvenile offenders." It closed down in 1960. It is now a California State Historical Landmark.

So now we get to the freaky stuff. Since it housed naughty kids back in the day, the castle is obviously haunted with the spirits of kids that were mistreated by the staff. All of this scary freaky supernatural stuff is caught on tape by the "Ghost Adventures Series" which I so kindly posted below:

PS: I'm so not into scary movies. And I'm such a wimp that I haven't even watched the full clips I posted below. It scares the crap out of me!!!!! Especially since I was actually standing in the very rooms they're filming this supernatural stuff! I'm gettin' the "willies" as I type this!

All About Bootys and Why I Hate Summer

Why I hate summer: It's way too hot for me (I'm a November baby)...and all my TV shows end...there's nothing interesting on TV!!

But, I think I found something worthy to watch: Here Come the Newlyweds (on ABC). At first hearing the name, it sounds like another corny reality tv show, but once I started watching it, I couldn't stop laughing. It makes you wanna compare your relationship with the couples on the show...I so wanna grab my boyfriend, become a newlywed, and compete on the show!

Now, here's what really caught my eye in the first place: The Butt Grab Challenge. In this challenge the blindfolded wives had to identify their husbands by booty only. The husbands all awaited their turn in an assembly line of booty grabbing, caressing, and patting, as the wives had to figure out which set of buns belonged to their dear husbands. It was freakin' hilarious!!!

I would love to do this challenge! I would get a chance to squeeze some buns (always fun!), and I would get a chance to see how well I really know that set of buns attached to my boyfriend!

Tina came in for a Pin-up & Boudoir Session as a gift to her hubby. His birthday and their wedding anniversary fall on the same day--that means he has no excuse for forgetting her anniversary gift! If he does, he is so going to bed without any supper!

She cracked me up! Tina was so nervous, but once we got started, and once the champagne started flowing, things got a lot more comfortable. She has no idea how hot she is!

She said, "Cuz I'm crazy like that." I really want a faux mole too!...well, maybe I'll just stick to just penciling one on...

This is one anniversary present Amy's husband will never forget. :)

Amy's Pin-up & Boudoir session was the first of it's kind in Nellie Photography history. Why? Because she brought her mom....and mom had a photo session of her own! Yep, Amy's mom, Mercedes, will be the first mom to come in and do a photo shoot along with her daughter. Photos from Mercedes' session will be posted soon.

Amy was a blast to work with because together, we came up with some fabulous pose ideas. While shooting, Amy fell into the ultimate pin-up character...almost effortlessly. She should be an actress!

My First Concert: Lil Wayne

So I was watching The View yesterday morning, and I was surprised to see Lil Wayne as a guest on the show. It reminded me that I wanted to tell you guys about my first big concert experience. I'm 26 and I just went to my first concert last month. What a weirdo!

I listen to all types of music: rock, rap, musicals, jazz, old standards, classical, r&b, 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's. You name it--and I'll give it a try!

My boyfriend bought tickets to the Lil Wayne concert as a gift. I wasn't super crazy about Lil Wayne--I liked him, but I wouldn't want my boyfriend to waste his money on a ticket for me. But, I went anyways.

And now...my view on concerts (and Lil Wayne) has changed completely. I loooooved it! I was so flippin' excited! Now when I hear a Lil Wayne song, I get all goose-bumpy and worked-up with flashbacks. I want to go to more and more concerts! Going to a concert makes you love the music even more.

To add to all the concert fabulousness, I had the most delicious slice of pepperoni pizza and cup of french fries ever!

How come nobody told me how freakin' awesome concerts were!? My next mission: Go see No Doubt in July...and now that I think about it, maybe Beyonce too!

These photos were taken by my friend (who had closer seats than I) with my little point-and-shoot camera.

The lady in this photo was the main back-up singer of the show. Turns out that she was recently added to Lil Wayne's record label, so we should be hearing more from her soon.

But what was really interesting was that at the end of the show, she gave Lil Wayne a sloppy, nasty, tongue kiss on stage--that showed up the huge video screen. And what's even more interesting is that the next day they were spotted sitting together on the telecast of the Sacramento Kings basketball game in Arco Arena.

So there's an inside scoop for ya!--We know at least one of the females Lil Wayne is dating. :)

Andy & Cara's Tahoe Wedding

Just in case you guys forgot: Yes, we still do weddings! :)

Through the storm clouds on a cold Lake Tahoe day, we weathered through Andy & Cara's wedding.

Some of you may recognize Cara as my lovely assistant. :)

The plan was to have the ceremony on the beach, but then it started raining and we had to move the ceremony indoors--SUCKS! But of course, as soon as the ceremony was over, the rain stopped. We quickly took advantage of the weather break, and booked out to the beach for some photos.

Photo #1: "The Gentle Kiss." Because of the off-and-on rainstorms throughout the day, the cloud scenery was exquisite.

Photo #2: "The Dress Shot." This dramatic shot is absolutely one of my favorites!

Photo #3: "A Little Sunbeam of Happiness."

Photo #4: "Jump If You Love Goldfish Crackers." This one gives me happy warm fuzzy feelings every time I look at it.

By the way, it was frickin' freezing and windy that day. By looking at the bridesmaid's body language, you can tell that they weren't too happy with their sleeveless dresses.

Photo #12: "Chow Time." The reception was held in one of the Montbleu's nightclubs, which was great because nightclubs scream with cool atmosphere and interior design. This was the VIP lounge, where the Bridal Party got to kick off their shoes and eat dinner (while sitting on the floor!). With her handy-dandy-cleavage bib, Cara made sure not to spill anything on her beautiful dress.

Photo #13: "Pop, Pop, Pop, Get it, Get it!" The Groom giving his Bride a lap dance is always an instant photo classic. The facial expressions are priceless!

Photo #14: "The Passion Fruit Martini." Yep, that's my head peering out from behind the enticing martini. The topic of this conversation was: "Taste this! It's the most delicious martini ever!"

Photo #15: "Uh Oh, is right!" The Maid of Honor gave a special lap dance to her best friend, the Bride.

Pinup Girl With Scissors

The sweetest thing: Jessica's boyfriend contacted us to schedule a Pin-up & Boudoir Session for Jessica as a Valentine's gift. He figured, "Hey, we both win." :)

Jessica is a hairstylist, so she wanted to emulate a photo she brought in of a vintage Pin-up girl trying to cut her own hair. What a delicious idea! Here's what we came up with:

Photo #1: "Just a Little Snip." I loooooove it. She nailed the expression. And check out the photo of her boy-toy in the corner.

Photo #2: "Girl-licious."

Photo #3: "The Sticky Sweet Corset."

Photo #4: "Forgive But Never Forget." Yep, that's what the tattoo says. You won't believe how hard it was for us to figure out how to get the tattoo to look readable but still achieve a flattering pose. Jessica's body was twisted, stretched, and it was a little difficult for her to breathe, but she pulled it off beautifully.

When Jessica first walked in, I said: "You remind me of Pink." She said that people usually say she reminds them of Hilary Duff. So here's a little comparison chart. Tell me what you think:

watching Australia! I just rented this movie and I am in LOVE! I'm gonna go out and buy it. It's got comedy, romance, adventure, a little heart-wrenching scenes--all the juicy good stuff. Plus it takes place in 1939, so it's got that great vintage fashion and scenery.

The photography is absolutely gorgeous--you got to watch it in high-def.

This blog posting has been a long time coming. And what's really fantabulous is that this posting will be a double feature!

Meet a long time client of mine: Tavia. She's a powerhouse of talent: hairstylist, recording artist, business woman, and the list goes on.

The reason for this particular shoot was to create images for her new album titled, "The Forecast". The idea was to create 2 images--One would be serious, dark and gloomy and the other would be happy, bright and sunny as if she made it through the storm. Here's what we came up with:

Kristine's husband is in the military so she did her Pin-up & Boudoir shoot as a gift to send out to him while he's overseas. Boy, is he in for a big surprise. :)

Kristine's got one of those great faces where you really can't tell what the heck she is--Hispanic? Black? White? Asian? a mixture of everything? And to really mix things up: she has a slight southern accent! (love it!)

We really wanted to focus on her tattoos, especially the one that featured her husband's name. Her tattoos are pretty awesome, by the way. I think her tats definitely add that extra bit of scrumptious to her photos.

Photo #1: "Classic Retro Glamour Spin-off." Is this stunning or what?! It reminds me of Old Hollywood.

My Babies: MUAH!

I have to post the latest photo of my babies: "Panda Snow Bear" and "Ginger" (I think you can tell who is who by the looks of them).

The last time I mentioned my doggies was when we first got Ginger. We didn't know if we wanted to keep her because Panda is so bossy and aggressive towards her. But, we worked it out. And the last time, I may have said that Ginger was named "Cinnamon". Well, we changed her name cuz Cinnamon was too long to say. We lazy around here...

This one gets lots of lovin' and kisses from the Nellie Photography Logo Lips.

Don't worry Panda, you're still my main man.

The Cousin Session (Part 2) Revised

So here's the second part of our Cousin Session: Jennifer.

Jennifer is so funny because even though she came in to do a Boudoir Session, she is so not into the girly stuff--She's a tomboy at heart. But a very cute tomboy, I must say. She has a fetish with Jordan basketball shoes. She brought a ton of Jordans with her to the session. Hilarious!

Photo #1: "Bottoms up in Color". I couldn't decide which image to post, so I posted both versions (as you'll see below). It looks so simple, but you'll never guess how hard it was to achieve this pose! Why? Because one's bottom is not easily seen above one's head. It was quite a puzzle trying to figure out how to get those buns way up in the air--and still look cute!

Photo #2: "Bottoms up in Black & White". See what I mean? Which one is better?

Photo #3: "Tube Socks and Jersey." I've said it before--tube socks are sexy! Jennifer added a football jersey, and now tube socks are double sexy!

Photo #4: "A Boyfriend's Dream Come True." Uh-oh mom, close your eyes! Jennifer really wanted Kim to do this shot with her--and it came out so well! The idea for this came from a Jordans ad.

Jennifer brought in this Tila Tequila photo that she wanted to emulate. I think we pretty much hit the nail on the head...

Photo #5: "Smooth as a Samurai". I happened to have the sword, and Jennifer followed up with the rest!

Photo #6: "Smooches!" How cute it this!?

Photo #7: "The Ring Check". This photo was actually taken as a test shot. Jennifer was still getting herself prepared and I was checking the lighting. But it came out beautifully! I love it when test shots turn out to be some of the best images from the session. :)

The Cousin Session (Part 1)

2 sessions. 2 gals. 1 stylist. 3.5 hours and 219 frames later we had a successful shoot and Kim and her cousin, Jennifer, were late for a bridal shower.

Kim came in to do a Pin-up & Boudoir session for her soon-to-be-hubby. What's really exciting: Kim's wedding just happened to be this past Saturday! I hope she had the time of her life!

Kim's cousin, Jennifer, came in to do a session for...well just cuz she wanted to! You will see Jennifer's photos in "Part 2" of this blog entry.

We had so much fun doing the shoot together, it was like a par-tay! A VIP on this party's guest list was Nina: She gave the referral, she did the hair & makeup, and she helped assist during the shoot. For hair and makeup, you can reach Nina at: nina.themakeupartist@yahoo.com

Now for one of the most hilarious parts of the shoot: How Kim and Jennifer entered the studio. I swear, they brought a whole closet! I just had to get pictures:

They even came with a bamboo tree! The first in Nellie Photography history! This is a story I will never forget.

...And here's the car they brought everything in! Can you believe 2 ladies, a ton of shoe boxes and clothes, and a bamboo tree fit into this teeny thang!? You know I was rollin' on the floor when I saw this madness!

And now...the photos!

Photo #1: "Pin that veil on her tail." What a great idea! I love the grunginess and fashion feel of this bridal portrait.

Photo #2: "As a matter of fact, I am." This is actually a page straight out of Kim's album! She requested an image with a Chinese food takeout box cuz it's sort of an inside joke between her fiance and herself. I think it's super cute!

Photo #3: "Enough to Make Mr. Vang Blush." This image looks like it's begging for a pair of angel wings.

Photo #4: "A Second Look, Cuz I know You Couldn't Get Enough of the First."
Another page from Kim's album--can you tell I'm diggin' the album design? Kim even prepared the beautiful bouquet she's holding--real flowers! Gorgeous!

Photo #5: "Cute. Sexy. Sweet." That pretty much sums up this one.

A Frickin' Fun Shoot

Yep, we had a frickin' good time during Melissa's shoot, as you can see in her photos.

Once her hair and makeup was complete and she stepped onto the set, she fell right into character--a super fabulous, fun lovin', fireball of energy character. She has so many expressions and poses locked up inside of that curly head of hers that I hardly had to give her any directions.

Photo #1: "The Giggle". Absolutely one of my favorites! Do I really need to explain why?

Photo #2: "My Milkshake Brings All the Boys to the Yard". Is it just me, or does Melissa look like a pretty porcelain doll?

By the way, these images feature a new artistic effect (can you see it?). It's the Pin-up Effect! It gives it a little cartoonish/painting effect. I love it!
Photo #3: "Yeeeaaah Baby!" This is another one of my favorites. Her expression is the first of its kind in Nellie Photography's Pin-up history. And it ROCKS. HARD.

Photo #4: "The Lollipop Spankin". You know I was crackin' up when she pulled this one out of her bag of tricks. Hilarious! And her face pulled it off beautifully!

Photo #5: "Hello Darling?". She almost looks like a character out of a movie, huh?

She's Hired!

So have you missed me? There's so much I need to fill you guys in on!

I've been so busy that I haven't had time to even touch the blog. But all should be okay now because I've hired the best assistant in the world! She will be taking care of all the photo editing from now on, and the really cool thing is: She's only 4 and a half!

What Does Mountain Dew Have To Do With Boudoir Photography?

Well, when it's your man's favorite drink in the whole wide world and you know how to pose with it, of course!

I thought it was a creative and cute idea, and you guys know I was crackin' up when Christine pulled it out of her bag!

Ahh, Christine. Sensual, and not afraid to show her curves. (Do I have to mention that I'm an advocate?)

Photo #1: "The Mountain Dew". Did anyone notice that Mountain Dew is actually spelled "Mtn Dew" on the can? I sure didn't.

Photo#2: "Oh the Tangled Pearls We Weave." Hizzzot! I don't have to say much more...

Photo #3: "I give you a set of bedroom eyes and sweet candy kisses". Christine came in to do a boudoir session for Valentine's Day as a gift to her man. Little did she know, her gift unlocked the age-old secret that all women-kind have been searching for since the beginning of time: How to make your man follow you (and your commands) like a puppy-dog for a week straight. Whoof!

Cake + Baby + Tux = One heck of a Babycakes Session

You may have seen this little guy before. He made his hilarious debut during his mom, Jessica's Pin-up & Boudoir Session which you can see here.

What is a Babycakes Session? Well, you bring your baby. We make the silly, colorful cake (which is usually lop-sided). We put the 2 together, and WA-LA! We have a wonderfully messy portrait session--Perfect for documenting baby's first birthday! You can see another example of our Babycakes Session here.

Usually, we put the baby in it's diaper for this session, but Jessica had the great idea to put him in a tux. And what a great idea it was!

Photo #1: "The 9 Ways to Say It Collage". This collage features a fun series of action images from the shoot. It's our most popular product for this particular session and we recommend it as a Wall Size Print (at least 24x24 size, but looks best in 30x30 size). We carry a sample of the 30x30 "9 Ways to Say It Collage" in the studio. So if you come in for a session, you can check it out for yourself.

Did you notice the side-part in his hair? Another one of Jessica's hilarious ideas!!!

Photo #2: "Dapper Dan". Move out of the way ladies! He's mine once he turns 18!!

This photo comes from another one of Jessica's great ideas (What a fabulous collaboration we make!). She wanted the photos to be sort of black and white, but with just a little colorization. In the above photo, you can really see the brand-new, vintage "Norman Rockwell Effect" I am beginning to play around with.

Norman Rockwell is a famous painter/illustrator. If you've been to Hometown Buffet (whoop, whoop!), you've seen Norman Rockwell's painting hanging on their walls. He is known for painting "Middle America".

Here's a side-by-side comparison of Norman Rockwell's paintings with my photo and the "Norman Rockwell Effect" added (...I think it's pretty gosh-darn exciting):

Photo #3: "Just Breathe Through the Mouth".This is what happens when you dive nose first into a cake--You get nostrils full of frosting! The poor thing can't breath out of his nose and he is just beginning to realize that this has become a serious matter. I can't stop myself from cracking up!!!!

Photo #4: "All that Remains". After he was done, his mom came over and literally cut off his tux (yes, with scissors). Talk about easy clean up. Now that's a smart lady!

For those who don't get it: I said, "run oft."
For those who still don't get it: I said, "run off"...but in the past-tense. So it's: "run off-ed."
For those who still don't get it: Forget it.

So, instead of watching the Superbowl, I edited photos and watched "O Brother Where Art Thou?". I never payed much attention to the movie before, but boy was I missin' out. It is flippin' hilarious!

Oh yeah, and by the way, it seems that the Denny's thing I mentioned in the previous entry wasn't such a secret after all. I heard they announced during the Superbowl.

New Pin-up Girl Photography and New Set!

I'm so excited to reveal our latest Pin-up Girl: Alicia! She came in for a session and blew me away. She seems to have a natural pin-up vibe reeking out of her skin. It also helped that she had her hair and makeup done by Image Provocateur's Glamour Salon.

During the session, we tried out one of our new sets: "Viva la Zebra". Check it out:

Photo #1: Yep, we put the squeeze on Alicia's rib-cage for this glossy red corset--beauty is painful! But with a few shallow breathes, a glam smile, and the "Viva la Zebra" set, Alicia pulled through and the pay-off was absolutely lovely!

Photo #2: Love this one. It's cupie doll-tastic!

Photo #3: Isn't she gorgeous? And check out our new martini prop! I love it, I think it's so cute..and realistic of course!! Another new thing in this image is the subtle paint effect--very similar to the original Pin-ups of the old days. (It might be hard to see it on this particular web-file.)

Spotlight on Nina: The Makeup Artist

Have you missed me?! I know it's been a while, and I hate leaving you guys hanging. I've just been so busy creating the new sets and updating stuff that I haven't got a chance to fill you in on the going-ons. But I have some exciting stuff to show you!!!!

To begin, here's some fun photos from a promotional shoot for Nina-the hair and makeup artist. Some of you may know her as our stylist for our Pin-up & Boudoir Sessions. We've been meaning to do her shoot for a while now. You can be sure that we will be doing some more! Isn't she the cutest, hottest, petitest, thang you've ever seen?!

She's currently working on her new website which will feature these photos, some of our clients, and a lot more. I'll let you know when it's up and running. In the meantime, enjoy!

We've showcased so many fabulous photos on the blog this past year. To aid in kissing 2008 goodbye, I've compiled a list of the Best Photos of 2008 featured on the Nellie Photography Blog. The photos listed are some of my personal favorites. Here's the top 10:

1. I'm partial to my loved one's first and foremost: Panda in his cone after his operation. I can't help but chuckle each time I see this one. I should hang it on the back of my bedroom door so that when I'm feeling down, I can shut the door to my room and give myself a tickle at the same time.

2. Amy with her cupcakes. This made the "Best" list because it has become a classic. A lot of clients have asked to do a cupcake scene after seeing Amy on the blog.

3. Cookie Cupcakes and her burnt cherry pie. Could this pin-up girl get any better? This is obviously one of my favorites because of all the delicious props. It's also memorable for me because it was the first time I tried to create a computerized "burnt, smoking pastry". I think it worked out pretty well if I do say so myself.

4. Danielle with her fiery red hair. The perfect example of why I love to shoot redheads.

5. Molly and the vintage wallpaper. She was one of our first models we used to try out our new Pin-up & Boudoir photography sets. This has become classic pose. It's a popular client request!

6. Sai and Neil's engagement session. This is one of my favorites because it showcases their loving relationship perfectly. The best part is the warm, snugly feeling I get whenever I see this image. It was used on the cover of their Engagement Album!

7. Katy the ballerina. This is just a one-of-a-kind pose. Only the very limber will attempt....

8. Tanisha as the Femme Fatale. This moody dark film noir image has become a client favorite. This particular photo is full of angles and attitude--I love it!

9. Sabrina and the red chaise lounge. This series stood out to me because it was one of the first times that I tried shooting from different perspectives while using the chaise lounge. The experiment worked out beautifully. Plus, Sabrina looks absolutely stunning!

10. Jessica and her red lips. This is a memorable photo to say the least. Clients have begun asking for a similar effect with their own images.

Honorable Mentions:

1. Mallory and the leopard print blanket. This is another classic pose. Many clients come into the studio with a print-out of this image as an example of a pose they want to try.

2. The Chocolate Fountain gone bad. This is a funny favorite of mine. This chocolate fountain was being used during a wedding when it decided to go rogue. As you can see from the picture, chocolate flew everywhere, and eventually the whole fountain crashed to the ground. This image reminds me of one of the dancing kitchen utensils in Disney's Beauty and Beast, during the "Be Our Guest" song.

Well, that's it. I tried to keep it down to 10 images only, but that didn't work. There were so many great images to choose from. I want to thank all of you for allowing me to post your photos on the blog. You guys make help make the blog what it is...and you keep people coming back for more.

Nellie Photography Welcomes 2009...finally.

No matter how hard I kicked and screamed, 2008 just slipped out from under me. I so did not want to accept the fact that a new year was beginning. So now, here we are in day 8 of the new year, and I've finally given in. I will stop "accidentally" writing "12/08" on dated material. I will let go...

I think one of the reasons why I resented seeing 2008 go was because there seemed like so much I didn't get a chance to do. When I was 15, my hairdresser once told me that the older I get, the more time will seem to speed past me. I think it was 3 years later that I realized that truth. My point is: My "To Do" list for 2008 is not complete! What the heck happened?

But here we are in 2009. A new year, with new ideas, new Pin-up and Boudoir sets, new friendships, and heck--new hairdo (I've got myself some bangs now!). We will soon have a new, updated website, new packages, new products, new accountant, and the list continues...Yes, there is much to look forward to!

I want to thank all the fabulous clients, assistants and family members that made 2008 such a successful year. It was actually our biggest, baddest (meaning good-est), and probably most memorable year yet! I look forward to what 2009 brings!

Yay 2009! PUMP IT UP! Spirit fingers!!!! Yeah Baby! Let's do this thang!! Whoop, Whoop!!!!
